The Pentacle Suit

Ace of Pentacles
"Money"
I used much bigger brushes and heavy handed strokes on this card. More primitive and primal.

Four of Pentacles
"Stability, Protected Home"
I decided to paint the Lion's Gate of Mycenae for the Four of Pentacles, for personal reasons in part. The lion heads on the ruins at Mycenae are lost to time, what is painted here is only artistic inspiration.  It is likely that the lions of Mycenae were roaring, given similar sculptures of the time.  I have also read that the heads were possibly made of metal.  But, since the time line of this suit predates the Cretan's or Mycenaean civilization, I can do what I want.

Five of Pentacles
"Loss"
I think the background of this card came out fantastic.

Six
"Generosity"
This card depicts the generosity of clothing the one who suffered Loss, carrying the figure of the 5 of Pentacles forward.

6 of Pentacles 6 of Pentalces
Seven of Pentacles
"Waiting"
I like the image of this card. Where normally "waiting" is depicted with waiting for flowers, I like that "waiting" here is depicted with pregnancy. It follows the history and story of the deck idea.

Queen of Pentacles
"The Nurturer"
When I first started this painting, I had only a loose idea of what it would be for. I just loved painting it for the colors alone, it was an image that I had in my head that had to get out on paper. I had begun to consider it for another card in the deck, but in discussing with Michelle, we decided that it would be best suited for the Queen.
